"An English Country Manor"

Situated on 200 acres, this English country manor home has a setting which lives up to the description of a "country estate."

The home was sited in an open pasture between mature woodlands. An elegant drive, more than a mile in length, winds through a forested hillside and open pasture areas, creating a sequenced approach to the home.

A series of outdoor rooms were created with the use of walls and hedges to anchor the architecture of the home to the property and create human scale to outdoor spaces within the expanse of a 100 acre pasture.

A large, central entertaining terrace and lily pond are terminated by beautiful gates opening out to the pasture beyond.

A stone and timber rose arbor supports climbing roses leading to a quiet sitting area with a bronze fountain.

An elevated summer pavilion anchors the rear corner of a formal garden overlooking the apple orchard and allowing for views back toward the rear of the home.
